Processing Time Registry entry
Specifies the time at which a Registration record should be linked to a POS record and any certificates printed when processing a transaction in POS.
Vitalware provides three alternatives for the time at which a registration record is linked to a POS record and certificates are printed during a transaction in the POS module:
Time | Description |
---|---|
| Upon tabbing off the Reg. No. field on the Sales tab in POS, the registration record is linked to the POS record and the certificate is printed. |
| The certificate(s) is linked and printed when the POS record is saved. |
| Records are linked and certificates printed when a batch is completed. |
This entry defines the Processing Time for users and groups. Note that if a user has not signed on to a Till, the system overrides this setting and defaults the Processing Time to At Save
.
Usage
This Registry entry can be assigned to users and groups:

Example
The following entries define a set of possible Processing Time entries:
User | vw | Table | epos | Processing Time | At Save |
Group | Counter | Table | epos | Processing Time | Immediate |
Group | Mail Room | Table | epos | Processing Time | Batched |
Users in group Counter are serving customers, so it makes sense that the certificates should be printed as quickly as possible. Users in group Mail Room are concerned with throughput of transactions, so the overhead involved with linking and printing certificates occurs only at the end of a batch. User vw has a personal setting that overrides the group setting, whereby records are linked and certificates printed as each POS record is saved.
